In 2015, I wrote a book called The Gratitude Connection. I felt compelled to write it and doing so changed my life—gratitude will do that. I actually became a happier person through the process. Writing and sharing the message of that book transformed me. I discovered the secret to calm the state of anxiety I had been living with.

Since then, I have coached many others to share their message through writing a book, impacting their own lives and the lives of their readers.

I have worked with scores of authors at this point and I’ve noticed two things in particular. One, we all have fears about sharing that deeper part of ourselves. Some might call it the true self. And two, often the thing we have to share is also the thing we ourselves need to truly meet. It is as if we know it on that deeper level. It is inherent in who we are, but our practical self can’t hear it until we see the impact in another. Some kind of universal humor.

In my upcoming book, Unleash Your Impact, I deep dive into the fears would-be authors confront. I call them fear dragons.

Eleven of my authors come forward to speak of their personal experience with the fear that challenged them the most. Fears such as imposter syndrome, perfectionism, procrastination, or time.

The concept of a fear dragon is this: the very thing we are afraid of invites the strength, power and resilience we need to face it.

I like to think of dragons as harbingers of transformation. They get our attention through fear, while they galvanize our resolve through mirroring our power and ability.

If you have been thinking about writing a book, now is the time. Why do I say that? Because I believe the need for your message is imperative both for you and for those you will touch with your message.

My mission is to help first-time authors navigate the book-writing adventure so that it’s fun and creative; a journey of self-discovery. Stay tuned for Unleash Your Impact. In the meantime, you can find me at UnleashYourInnerAuthor.com.
